Herbified

There is nothing better than a caprese salad with fresh basil. The cut basil at the store lasts all of about 12 hours in the fridge and so I decided I wanted an herb garden with my own replenishing supply of basil, cilantro, rosemary and sage.

I have been harassing Todd for the last few months about it and so for my birthday this weekend he took me out to buy the supplies and then helped me plant my little garden. It was so fun! Thanks Todd!!!!

Good luck Katie, I am so jealous! I won't discourage you with the story of my herb garden. It's a sad story. Let's just say I now buy cilantro and freeze it so it will last more than the 12 hours, probably not as fresh and good though :).

I completely agree that a herb garden is essential. It's simply too costly to be buying basil by the carton-load at the store. I am lucky to usually have a year-round supply of my basil and some others. It just makes cooking so much better.
