It's a bird...It's a plane...

We decided to hold out until 12 weeks to add our munchkin to the blogosphere and finally we can give the big announcement that we are pregnant!

On Mother's Day I was feeling a little funny so after a nice long run I decided to go and buy a pregnancy test. Sure enough two pink lines showed up. Todd didn't believe it (and neither did I) but 7 tests later we decided it may not be a fluke.

Our first appointment at 5 weeks showed the possibility of twins (Todd was ecstatic...I about died) but our 7 week ultrasound showed only one little heartbeat.

Today the baby was swimming and doing some jujitzu moves while we watched him/her for 10 minutes on the ultrasound. I remember looking at friends ultrasounds and thinking they were kind of neat but it is amazing how magical they are when it is your own baby growing and changing.

I have been lucky enough to have a good pregnancy so far. I am definitely more tired than usual but have still been able to maintain my normal work schedule, continue to run regularly and do most of the things I was doing prepregnancy.

Todd definitely wants a girl---but has a gut feeling it is a boy. I don't really have a preference--or any gut feeling! I can hardly wait until August when we will find out for sure.

More updates to come!

Gasp! Congrats to you two! (I actually found out a while ago from the "your mom to my mom" grapevine, I hope that's okay), but I know how touch-and-go everything can be at the beginning, so I was holding out for you guys. Hope you continue to feel well, and that everything is good with the baby!

Katie and Todd--Congratulations!! Jared and I are very excited for you guys :) I found your blog through Claire Fogelquist's and actually found that you know two of my family's good friends Brent and Shannon Mattson. Brent served his mission where I grew up and baptised my older sister. They are so fun!! Well, I just wanted to leave you a note saying how happy we are for you guys. I hope your pregnancy continues to treat you well!
